FAQ's

IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO BOOK? 

To book a 50% non refundable deposit is required. The final payment is not due until the day before via direct transfer or cash in hand on the day, is also suitable. 

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT IT RAINS? 
It is the responsibility of the client to have a backup location in the event it is raining. Suggestions include at a house (yours, friends or families) either indoors or outside in an undercover space (balcony, garage port, backyard etc). 

Alternatively we can setup in a rotunda or undercover sheltered space, such as Ascot Park, New Farm, Sherwood Arboretum, Rocks Riverside Park etc. There are many suitable community halls and event spaces for hire which we are happy to recommend. 

WHAT LOCATIONS DO YOU SERVICE?

We are based in beautiful Brisbane however, we can also setup at the Gold Coast, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Ispwich and any areas in between.
Some locations do incur an additional travel fee*

HOW DO I BOOK?

Please put through an enquiry on the booking form located on our website.

IS A PERMIT REQUIRED? 

A permit is not required in Brisbane. The Gold Coast charges a permit fee of $35 for most public parks and a premium fee of $119 for specific parks. 

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/ RESCHEDULING POLICY?

As the deposit is non refundable if you wish to cancel the event, the money will be held as credit. Credit will last for a year from cancellation and can be used on a different sized event if needed! 

If you are wanting to reschedule due to wet weather or a last minute date change, we need a minimum of 72 hours notice otherwise a $70 rescheduling fee will apply.

ARE YOU LICENSED?

Yes, we are licensed and insured! 

CAN I ADD OR REMOVE ADDITIONAL ITEMS OR CHANGE GUESTS NUMBERS LATER ON?

Absolutely, we can always change the second invoice to reflect the correct number of guests or add on extras if available. Changes must be made 48 hours prior to the event.  

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO THE PICNIC? 

As we do tend to have multiple bookings on one day it important to arrive on time for your event! If a client is more than 15 minutes late a $20 late fee is charged. If a guest arrives before you then we are happy to head off, avoiding you any additional charges (unless the second deposit is required). 

CAN I LEAVE EARLY?

It is perfectly fine to leave early but we do ask that you please advise our team 30 minutes before, so we can make our way back for packdown! 

IS THERE ANY LOCATIONS YOU DO NOT DO? 

Desire Picnic Hire does not setup at botanic gardens unless there is car access. We do not setup at Burleigh Hill and other speciality Gold Coast locations unless the higher park permit is paid! We do not service further then Caboolture unless agreed otherwise.
